Who we are

Hi — I’m Brit. Founder of WOVN.

I started this journey nearly twenty years ago in an undergraduate fashion merchandising program. What I fell for wasn’t the trend side of the business.

It was the math underneath it: how many, at what price, arriving when.

Since then, I’ve spent my career in merchandise planning and demand and supply planning at major retailers, including two L Brands subsidiaries and Backcountry.com.

In 2021, I began working alongside founders, helping startups think through their first real buys. Apparel and home goods. Full-price and off-price. One-rack assortments and assortments large enough to fill a distribution center. Every business had its own complex problems to solve as it scaled.

Along the way, I also began pursuing my MBA, deepening the finance and strategy lens I’ve always brought to planning. Because merchandise planning isn’t just about inventory.

Every purchase order is a capital allocation decision.

Why WOVN

Somewhere in all of that, though, I stopped being able to unsee what fabric content was doing to the category. Plastic fiber is cheap to make — and cheap to over-buy. The planning systems I worked in were very good at helping brands make more of it.

I built WOVN to put that skill set to work somewhere else: the same rigor, pointed at natural fiber and the brands committed to it.

But the real why got personal. During fertility treatment a few years ago, I found myself learning more about the questions researchers are asking about microplastics, human health, and reproductive health. I’d spent years planning products made from exactly those materials, and suddenly I couldn’t separate the two thoughts.

I’m incredibly grateful to say I became a mom in 2023. Today, I’m a mom of two little ones.

They’re the real answer to why WOVN exists.

I believe we can still course-correct — and hand the next generation a closet made of things that grew.

What it means to work with WOVN

When you work with WOVN, you’re working directly with me and my small team of seasoned planners and buyers. Not an account team. Not a junior analyst running a template.

We bring real-world planning experience to the table — and we care deeply about helping brands make smarter decisions about what they produce, how much they produce, and where they invest their capital.

I’d rather you buy well.

— Brit
